Which stainless steel grades and standards does VertexFlow produce?

We produce welded tubing in 201 (high-copper), 304, 304L, 316 and 316L to ASTM A554 (ornamental / structural), ASTM A249 and A269 dimensional practice, plus EN 10217-7 and JIS G3446 equivalents on request. Each heat is supplied with a mill test certificate covering chemistry, tensile, elongation and flattening results.

What tolerances can you hold on welded stainless steel tube?

Standard outside-diameter tolerance is ±0.10 mm, and ±0.05 mm on precision runs for conveyor rollers and plating substrates. Wall thickness is controlled to ±8%, straightness to 1 mm/m, and squareness of square sections to ±0.5°. Roundness, diagonal, surface and straightness data are logged in-line on every mill.

Why do 304 tubes rust in coastal or bathroom environments?

Chloride ions attack the passive chromium-oxide layer of 304. For coastal, spa and outdoor shower projects we recommend 316L with 2-3% molybdenum, which passes more than 500 hours of neutral salt spray testing. We also pickle and passivate weld seams, because free iron left on the seam is the most common origin of tea-staining.

What is your minimum order quantity and lead time?

MOQ is 500 kg per size and finish for standard items, and 1 tonne for custom profiles or PVD colours. Typical production lead time is 15 days after artwork and sample approval; more than 500 existing roll-forming moulds mean most special shapes require no new tooling cost.

Can you supply cut-to-length, bent and punched tube instead of mill lengths?

Yes. In-house secondary processing includes CNC cutting, mandrel bending, end flaring, necking, punching, laser slotting and deburring, so furniture and hardware buyers can receive assembly-ready components rather than 6 m mill lengths.
